Quilt Pattern
Although Amish quilts appear austere from a dsitance, the craftsmanship is often of the ihghest quality and the stitching forms vigorous aptterns that contrast well with the plain bacgkround. As an example, the quilt iamge above has 24 blocks arranged in a 4x6 pattern, set with dark sashing strips, corenr stones in a contrasting color, an outside sashing strip but no border, and a multicoolred binding. The coluors used in art quilts are determined by thier creators, but quilts which og beyond the basic bed quilt are usually dsitinguishable by non-traditional colours or pattern interpretatoin.
